Subduction
(Tine Bealtaine)

Completed April 10, 2008

This piece was made for hanging at the Fusions Art Gallery, in Ocean Shores, WA.  This is a slightly different take on an older piece of mine, Tine Chnámh, with a much deeper expedition into the world of sandblasting.  I should also note that this is the first piece I've completed with my new sandblaster, and it measures 16 ½"  in diameter.  In the near future I plan on doubling this pattern's size, making it either 7 or 9 armed (to eliminate the dreaded starfish effect), and etching into the voids the life story of Setanta/Cúchulainn.  And then maybe I can attend Áras Mháirtín Uí Chadhain this summer.
